"I don't think they worked super well though." She said softly.
Austin watched as she made the wand movements, keeping a close eye on the small things. The way she held her wand, the way she stepped, any indication that something might be off. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary, though.
"Everything seems to be right..." He let his voice trail off as he thought. Thinking back to his own DADA experiences, he wondered what might be the issue. If her spells weren't strong enough, then maybe it wasn't the way she was doing them, but the manner in which they were casted.
"I know when I'm having trouble making a spell work, it's usually because I'm not confident in it. Your wand is a part of you, kind of like a pet." Although pet seemed like a downgrade from what it actually was.
"It can tell when you're not feeling like yourself, and your spells will suffer because of it."
At this point, he pulled out his wand from his leg holster.
"You need to believe that you can do them. Be confident in yourself, and your abilites." He was way better at giving advice than taking it himself. Austin always had trouble when it came to spells like these. He could do small ones, but anything major was a struggle for him.
"Okay, I'm going to try and disarm you, see if you can stop it." "Expelliarmus!"
