| Otter This World ♡ Catpurrccino ♡ Slotherin ♡ Pandamonium SPOILER!!: Ansley
It was always nice to get to know his students a little bit better and find out their plans for the future. Ansley nodded as he listened to Hadleigh elaborate about her interest in creatures. It might not be anything artistic, but he could tell that she was a dedicated worker and good student, and he very much approved. "Well, I started with drawing on my own," he said when the subject turned back to him. "I had some lessons during summers, and I got into painting also. When I went to University, I did many different types of art. I was actually an art and art history teacher before I came here." And when he was studying at school, he was required to know at least a little about a lot of things.
Hmm. Ansley looked at Hadleigh for a few moments, considering her and her words. The answer that she had given him didn't affect whether or not he would begin teaching her in the ways of magical portraiture. But it more made him curious than anything else. It wasn't exactly his business though so he didn't pry. If she wanted to tell him more about it then she would. "Well, the magic infused in a portrait is slightly different for a currently living person than for a currently deceased person. It's a little easier to evoke the person's personality if they are still alive when their portrait is created but that doesn't mean it can't be done." It just meant that the personality was more "ghosted". He knew all of the more recently painted portraits that he had brought to class had been done while the subject was still alive. One of the really old ones, he wasn't completely sure.
"So, if you're still interested, I'd like to schedule a weekly lesson in the studio a couple doors down. Which night of the week are you free?"
Sitting up in the seat straighter she set her hands on her lap as she listened to everything that was being said. A former art and art history teacher?! Awesome! A small smile came to her face as she nodded her clear approval of this knowledge. So working on some art on her own wouldn't be a bad idea at all if she wanted to better herself at this. Something she could do in her spare time between lessons and studying. "I tend to doodle here and there though I'm not the best at it." She had gotten better over the years.
What exactly did that mean? It would still be them though, yes? Just not as vivid as when they were alive or something? Hady tilted her head a little bit in a form of possible confusion before asking quietly, "It would still be that person though just not as lively as they had been?" Was that what he meant? If so she could handle that.
Was she still interested?! YES! YES! YES! "Yes sir, I am. I can be free any night really but Monday's are usually good as is the weekend." However if she needed to rearrange some of her other tasks she certainly had no problem with doing so.
