Especially since this was an antidote, she wanted to start with the cleanest equipment possible. Even a little caked on frog guts could render her potion null... or dangerous.

She eyed Kaycee lowering herself into her chair as she dropped the bezoar into the mortar. Eyes on the prize, though, as she began to pulverize it. Surely there was a better way to make powdered goat-stomach-rock-thingy than by hand, because it was making her wrist ache almost immediately.

"You're still feeling okay? You look a little peaky. Why don't you rest your head on the desk?" The bezoar was looking good, all evenly ground and dusty, and Dot quickly added four measures to their clean cauldron.

After the bezoar dust, Dot added two measures of Standard Ingredient, followed by the water. Was it supposed to be a certain color or consistency or... something? Granted, she hadn't done anything magical to it yet, but... how was she meant to know she was doing it right? Dot squinted into her cauldron, and then squinted at Kaycee again.

So far... so good.

But those were questions for later. Dot lit a fire under her cauldron and kept it burning as she counted off the five seconds. Was it supposed to do... something? Anything? No? Hopefully, at the end of the five minutes of brewing, she'd see some physical change to her potion.

"Is it supposed to be a certain color, sir? Also... why aren't you using magic?" He wasn't a Squib, was he? Did he need a hug?

Kaycee laughed light. "A little bit is better than all the way." True story. Although, now she wished she didn't laugh. It kind of made the dizziness a little worse. But, nothing too bad. Just, unpleasant. Which made her start to worry what would happen if she failed at making the antidote when they switched places.

Oh. "Good idea." she said laying her head on the table. This was a little better. "Too bad there isn't a bed around." That also sounded really good.

Kaycee then sat when Dot asked the question to the Professor.

WHOA... she sat up a little TOO quickly. She took a second to gather her senses before peeking at the cauldron. Was it supposed to do something? Professor?
