| Otter This World ♡ Catpurrccino ♡ Slotherin ♡ Pandamonium SPOILER!!: Ansley
Ansley leaned back in his seat and listened as Hadleigh began to talk a little bit about herself. It seemed like all pretty much standard stuff for a girl her age, not that it surprised him at all. He just wanted to know a little about her, not really knowing many of his students that well yet. He liked the hard-worker part, though it remained to be seen if she really was or if she said that for his benefit, but she was here looking to do something extra, so he hoped that it was the former.
"A Creatures Healer.. that's an interesting career," he nodded slowly, thinking a moment about it. He didn't personally know anyone who was, and he wondered about a connection between that and the arts. But not everything had to relate. "Do you do any extra work with Professor Draper?" Just curious, and really making small talk more than anything else, but if she was really interested in that type of a career then it certainly wasn't a bad idea. Though it did leave him wondering how much time she did have on her hands.
Her lack of experience didn't surprise him too much though, knowing the lack of opportunity that Hogwarts had in that area when he was her age. "But it's something you're interested in?" Obviously, or she wouldn't be here. "I had to create art in my own time too when I was a student," he nodded. "It wasn't till I was a little older that I had any formal training." Other than extra-curricular classes during the summer when he was a kid.
Ansley looked at her curiously though when Hadleigh fell silent for a moment. Hmm... it did sound like a very personal reason for wanting to study magical portraiture, though some of her explanation sounded much like his reasoning for including them in class. "I agree," he smiled. "I think many portraits can give a more interesting and personal angle to the stories of the past. Though I wonder.. is there someone in your life that you are wanting to reconnect with in this way?" It was just the way she had answered that made him curious, but it didn't really affect his decision in teaching her painting.
Hady nodded smiling lightly. "I always wanted to be a healer and help others. My love for all creatures is what steered me in that direction. I have spoken with Professor Draper and he's going to try to get me an internship or a job of some sort this summer in the field." So technically as of right now she wasn't doing much in the line of her career unless a lot of studying counted for this. "Yes, Sir." She nodded firmly. Sculpting and painting weren't her best but she could learn. Like everything else she did Hady would always give it her all. "What type of art did you do?" Drawing, painting, sculpting? So many forms of art.
From the moment the word fell from her lips and she tried to explain her reasoning Hady knew the question was going to be asked. The look of curiousity was first followed by an agreement to her reasoning. Shifting a little in her chair, hazel eyes fell onto her lap for a brief moment as she let out a breath. "Yes Professor," she admitted turning her eyes onto his again as she spoke. Would this alter his decision in teaching her how to make a portrait? Please don't let it be so! If anything her having someone she wanted to connect with would only make her work much harder to learn!
