Maybe in a few months, he would be able to access the Restricted Section. Baby steps Austin... Baby steps. "Honestly I'm not all that great with DADA, and it did take me a while to get the spell down. But once I did it came as a surprise." He let out a chuckle. "Honestly I would prefer to be behind a cauldron than in front of a dummy." His first class of DADA was a great example of that. Hopefully he'll get better at it.
Austin pondered for a few minutes. "I think a rat would be quite interesting. I'm quite tall, so it would be nice to see things from a different perspective." He was so used to seeing things from an aerial point of view. It would be nice to see things from the ground. Get a different view of the world. Maybe even find hiding spots he'd never been able to find before. Art grinned, "Good! Well we... we have a recipe book in the student lab you can.. you can look through and practice some of them. Anytime." He was all for encouraging students to get messy, safely, with potions. "Well... what's the most difficult potion you've brewed so far? If you can remember," he added. "There's a lot of books," he said, opening a draw and rummaging inside it to pull out a few leaflets. There was an OWL level potions leaflet, and a NEWT level leaflet. He slid them to Austin. "T-try these ones if you'd like. Though I daresay you'll find the OWL ones easy enough." "Never fear, it wasn't my favourite subject." He did well enough at it, but those advanced spells, he wasn't so great at. Art listened to Austin speak of his experiences, and found himself smiling. "Well it's an achievement to be proud of." And then he found himself chuckling. "I agree with you there, behind a cauldron is a much better spot." He would have to keep an eye on Austin during classes. He had a feeling he would be one of the top students to look out for.
Art nodded, "Mmm, mmm, yes, I often wonder what the different animals see."
