That last swing of the tree was a little too close to comfort for her. Scarlett's paint party sounded like a lot of fun, and it sounded like it had really made her happy. Hufflepuffs were like that, she'd heard.
She perked up when the Hufflepuff girl mentioned decorating her dorm. "NO WAY!" she said. "That's so cool! I'm going to find all the other Slytherin first years and suggest we decorate our dorm, too!" she exclaimed. "It's so dark and damp down there. Don't get me wrong. I love my house, and I wouldn't trade my sorting for anything in the world, but the Slytherin Common Room isn't exactly roomy." But it was HOME now, and it was really starting to grow on her.
Ariadne flinched when something blazed past her vision. At first, she thought it'd been the tree, but it was too small and too low on the ground to be the tree. If the tree could get THAT low, she was in trouble. "What was that?" she asked Scarlett. Something else on the ground caught her attention then, and Ariadne pushed herself up off the ground. Approaching the planner, she picked it up and read the bold red words on the page. "Why won't anyone play with me?" she repeated. "Hey...come look at this. It sounds like somebody's REALLY lonely and looking for friends." Maybe THAT was who had left the planner behind. Ariadne looked around, but everyone seemed preoccupied with something else. "Don't be sad!" she called out. "I'll be your friend! I'LL PLAY WITH YOU!"
The kids here at Hogwarts were a little old to play, but...maybe they meant play Quidditch! Ariadne could do that! Scarlett was just about to offer up her extra supply of glitter - she seriously had TONS and was more than happy to unload some of it to her friend and any other Slytherins who felt like going crazy with it in their dorms - when Ariadne got distracted by something. Wrinkling her eyebrows, Scarlett followed her and peered over her shoulder as she opened the planner and took a look at it. "That's so weird, it's like a kid wrote it! I mean...a kid younger than us," she added with a chuckle. Like, a baby or something. Which was so weird. And kids her age did not PLAY. That was just...weird.
And...was that a giggle?
This was all starting to freak Scarlett out - and it was reminding her all too much of that weird encounter she'd had in Myers' office with that doll. Feeling like she would much rather be in her soft, warm bed AWAY from whoever - or WHATEVER - was looking to play, she bit her lip and took a step back. "You know, I actually just remembered - I have to feed my cat. Um, like now. I'll see you later!" she called, turning on her heel and power walking alllllllll the way back to her dorm.
