Something about dead snails and a new spell later, Chloe was staring down her snowman. She had to really focus, that was what the instructions said, but she wasn't sure she could. It was hard to focus on her intent when all she seemed to notice was how lopsided and ridiculous her snowman actually looked. Her terrible craftsmanship was actually a distraction. This whole assignment was frustrating her.
So much so that her freckled face was starting to twinge ever-so-slightly pink.
Chloe had to get her act together if she was every going to complete this project. Her grade was on the line here.
Tucking some unruly blonde hair behind her ears, the twelve year old drew her wand. She practiced the wand configuration and whispered the spell under her breath, "Pier-TO-tum Lo-CO-motor An-NEXus..." And so on. Her mind was the farthest thing from focused. So she practiced and practiced and practiced as a stalling tactic.
