Bad time? Roderik looked over at the stack of parchment before shaking his head and smiling at the young boy. "I certainly wouldn't say it's a bad time." Meaning that he was getting too bored of dealing with those pieces of parchment and a distraction was welcomed.

"What can I do for you, Mr Browne?" he asked, gesturing to the seat on the other side of the desk.
There would be no complaints from him, nope... not now at least. It was seldom his style, save for observations - those didn't pass through filters, so they COULD be taken as complaints in the moment.

Not a bad time then? Good. Zeke returned the Professor's smile with an easy one of his own, sitting himself down on the chair that was offered. Now it was crunch time. "I came with a request, actually," he started, unsure if he should warm into this or just dive right in. He supposed a healthy mix of the two would suffice. "I had an arrangement with Professor Dakest while he was teaching here," he added, remembering to use the man's surname instead of his given name, "he agreed to assist me with additional training outside of class, private tuition of sorts - dueling and general practice. So I was wondering, if you might be able to afford me something similar?"

Yes?

Yes?

Of course, he had his reasons for it... so before the silence could be filled by a response from the man, he continued.

"I was the dueling Champion for my tournament group last year, and I'm keen to defend my title, but that aside, I'm here for self-improvement. I'm willing to work for it."
