It's pretty stupid to try something like this with some of the most powerful wizards in our world as teachers. How long ago was this?"
Mason whooped when Kitty said that she was in, "Yes! Alright," she leaned in closer and whispered to the other girl, "My wand is pretty powerful, its speciality is basically for evil, so breaking the rules with this thing is easy. And if I may say so myself, I'm pretty good at casting a Disillusionment Charm."
Mason bit her lip and looked at Kitty, "Then comes the tricky part. We're going to have to brew an Ageing Potion. The Section is only for teachers and people over NEWT age."
Her face contorted into a malicious grin, "I have the recipe . . . but we're going to have to steal the ingredients. Are you up for it?"
This was going to be so much fun. She shrugged when Mason asked how long ago this was. She guess she could figure out a general timeframe by researching Headmistress Loryen. That was actually a pretty brilliant idea. "I don't know. It wasn't in the newspaper. But whoever did this clearly wouldn't have cared that it was illegal to create a Basilisk, otherwise he or she wouldn't have been attacking people to begin with."
Kitty listened to Mason talk about how they were going to get in with increasing excitement. This was unlike anything she had ever attempted before. Even participating in the flash food fight with Haddie and the Gryffindor boy was nothing compared to stealing ingredients. She had always been shy about getting into trouble with grown ups, even if over the past few weeks that shyness had began to wear off. Yet this plan sounded...fun. There didn't seem to be real danger involved, and it was all for the sake of knowledge. Wasn't that what they were at Hogwarts for to begin with?
"Count me in! I'll do anything we have to." Kitty had never felt more free in her life than she did right after she uttered those words. She felt excited enough to scream, thankfully she didn't. She looked back and forth to be certain no one was eavesdropping then ask in a whisper, "What do we do first?" |
