Cornelius tapped his chin as if he had to think about his new nose. "Hmm, well. As long as you pick out a manly nose that's not too big but just perfect." Though his nose now was perfect, thank you. The boy let out another loud laugh as Rachel covered her eyes. "You're going to need new eyes by the end of this term." He then proceeded to extend his arms and walk slowly toward Rachel. "Imma dreenk yer blooohhhhddd. Argggghhhh!" Run, run away, little girl.
He then paused and shrugged, grinning. "I like having fun, and you're fun." Not uptight or sour or anything like that. Fun people were his favorite. Rachel seemed to know where his train of thought was headed, he smirked. Enough on ducks, though. "It's been stellar! I've met a lot of my housemates and they seem really cool. I also think I made an enemy." And he was SMILING on that last part.
''I dub thee Corn the Ultimate Slytherin, then,'' Rachel replied. The title sounded a tad like that Muggle Superhero comics she heard about- the Ultimate Spiderman. Oh, excellent! She got to choose the nose. "Is there a catalog of noses?'' she asked. "If not, the only type I had in mind is one that is hooked and curved like a beak.'' She smiled innocently at him and hugged the duckling to her chest.
''B-b-but I love my eyes.'' The Eagle gasped as Corn held out his arms like a zombie towards her. "Oh, no!'' She pretend to back away in terror. "I don't want to become a vampire.'' She ruined this bit by giggling. Her giggles got in the way sometimes when she was trying to be serious.
Rachel smiled, her cheeks going light pink at the compliment. "Thank you. I didn't think I was because I prefer books and lots of people find that quite boring.'' She wasn't like Haddie who had a knack for pulling pranks or doing lively things. "I like you Slytherins. Oh, did you? Who? How? Why are you smiling about it?'' There was no way she could miss that brilliant Cornelius Baltazar smile. |
