Ruby Broadmoor, twelve years old and still as quiet and timid as ever decided that hiding out in the Common Room all day was not the best method for making friends. Having been at the school for over a year the little brunette knew that she would have to start making acquaintances soon or else it would be a very lonely 5 years for the rest of her school life. Except for the company of her sister of course. The loud, bubbly blonde was opposite to her sister but Ruby loved her dearly. Their common rooms on the complete opposite levels of the castle however meant that bumping into Tabitha spontaneously was a rare occurrence. But still she headed out into the grounds and over the long wooden bridge in the hope that her sister just might be around.
Her book was tucked under her arm, a gift from her parents sent via owl mail just the day before. She had already got halfway through reading and she simply couldn’t put it down other than to go to lessons or to do her homework of course. She was wandering down the pathways when she became distracted by something in the distance. She paused quickly and then shrugged it off until she found somewhere appropriate to sit. She would often sit by the lake but the impending winter meant that a wind blew off the surface of the water and it often got far too cold to sit there. She was wrapped up in her thick coat and her long woolly scarf her grandmother had knitted her.
Her knees tucked up beneath her as she rested her book on them and began to read.
