"Hey, Garreth!" she said as he came into sight. He was talking with a girl she didn't know. "Hello, I'm Esme." She wondered what they were talking about, but felt that it was better not to ask; this wasn't any of her business and they would tell her about it if they wanted her to know.

Kitty was feeling really happy now that she had just made two friends in a row. So far this term was going much better than last term.
