Nothing could have prepared Austin for the rush when the dummy was coming towards him. It wasn't the dummy that scared him. It wasn't even the thought that the dummy could hurt him. What worried the boy the most, was that this was a plausible occurance. There were going to be times when he might be without his wand, and he needed to defend himself. Especially if he was going to protect his younger sister. What three year old needed help in self defence? None. But Austin was ready for anything.
With his sister on his mind, he regained his stance, his hands in front of him. And when the dummy grabbed onto his arm, he was ready.
