Even a high fence couldn't keep all the Muggles out, and his mother had insisted that they keep the yard mostly clear for Jaemin. Safety and all that.
He resented the idea that he couldn't handle himself around plants, mum!
"Dad's studying the effects of miniaturization on plants harvested for potions ingredients or food," the boy murmured absently, sprinkling water on a tendril that snaked closer to him before standing up again and moving away from it. Not today, plant. "He wants to see if they can be grown normally in miniature sizes and then restored to their normal sizes for use without side effects..."
Which meant there were a whole bunch of large, glass, 'this should probably be holding an inappropriate pet' sort of tanks on their back porch and in their house. Jaemin absolutely adored it.
A vineyard? The small boy scrunched his nose and looked up at the professor as he did his best to water a small, sort of tufty looking plant without getting too close. He didn't know what it was... so he couldn't know how dangerous it might be.
"That's a place where all they grow is grapes all over the place, right? All different kinds?" The green ones were the best tasting, but they came from the grocery store... he was dwelling on that a bit, wondering if they came to the grocery store from a vineyard or some other place, when the professor mentioned a field trip. The small boy started bouncing excitedly again. "You mean take care of plants like they do at plant nurseries? That's what my mum does!"
He helped her pull weeds sometimes! It was far less exciting than studying the tiny plant life his father brought home, but still a bit fun.

Jessie grab in the handle of watering ban tightening. Gloomy expression appeared in her face.
" I will be oke to cancel my plan to become an Auror. I'll study herbology seriously. And once I success with curing my dad, I can be a herbologist.I'm sure he'll be proud of me! "
Her cheeks turn into red color. Maybe she talked too much. She always speaks a lot whenever she feels exited. And then Jessie stole a glance to the professor.
"When your lesson will begin, sir?" Jessie smirk to professor Myers "And what you usually teach to the beginner like me? Maybe I'll prepare it.But I'm can't promise you to not make a problem." Jessie chuckled after hearing her jokes to the herbologist.
He found Jay's explanation of his father's work...fascinating.
"Oooh." Like truly, it was. He actually wanted to owl the boy's father now, too. 'CAN I COME VISIT YOUR WORK PLEASE?' But he tried to look calm for now. But if the man could..figure that stuff out...it could be a BIG game changer for the Herbology community!
"Yes...our vineyard has grapes, and we make wine." He nodded.
"It's a pretty good living...and Milton enjoys it so..." he shrugged.
"Sort of..but also...our irrigation system...and how it works, taking care of a HUGE amount of land that produces grapes. It's actually pretty interesting." He said with a nod.
And yes, Jessie was right. Many plants were dangerous like that...but Paul still wasn't all that worried in general. He wasn't sure whether he wanted to ask about her dad...what if it made her sad? Paul never wanted to make people sad. Sooooo he settled for, "
Well, you can do anything you put your mind into, m'dear. I do hope your father is all right, right now." He nodded and set his watering can down. Enough water!
He grabbed a bucket....
"I have some compost. If you'd like to wear gloves, you can. If not, well...I don't mind either way. But I'm going to drop some compost on the...not as aggressive plants. Different composts help different plants--so please only drop this compost on...the normal plants in here." He hoped the understood?
