She gave him a smile. She added the other professor part so he wouldn't feel obligated to help her out. So he could keep it calm. she could sense that he didn't like having these kinds of conversations.
As she got up to leave she turned to him, "Do you know if they have found her or Sabbath? I really miss them and I know they need to be here. They are just kids like me. The aurors should have found something out by now. No disrespect or anything. They have been missing for over 75 days. I hope they are still alive." With that she turned to leave. Her heart was starting to break again. She missed her cousin so much.
He had no doubt that her words were sincere, but whether or not they were entirely truthful was another matter all together. Not that he was any sort of expert on such things. But at least she did not appear to be on the verge of tears right now.
"Anytime, Miss Summers," he confirmed.
Aaaaaand it seemed like that was it, painless enough, and the professor stood to escort her out when she turned to continue to speak. Oh sweet solstice. How did he respond to that sort of inquiry? Something told him that being the realist and telling her to hope for the best but prepare for the worst would go over to terribly well. "I am sure they are doing everything they can," he nodded sincerely. "And may not be at liberty to discuss their progress." In fear that the kidnappers change course when they catch wind of Law Enforcement's movements. SPOILER!!: Daxton ;_____; Quote:

He ran his fingertips over the surface of the bubble, trying to get a better look at it at the same time and going slightly cross-eyed in the process. It was not an offensive texture, about what he would have expected it to feel like; almost like a balloon but not as unpleasant. He wondered what the 'barrier' was constructed from, and what made it so like a regular bubble yet not as inclined to burst at the merest touch. Was magic somehow woven into it? If so, did that mean that magic was a substance that could be viewed and therefore studied on a molecular level?
Speaking of the fabric of magic, Daxton's attention was diverted by Airey Flamsteed's literature suggestions. He looked up at the man, considering those titles, filing them away in his memory and making a note to check for those books in the library, first and foremost. There was little chance he would find enough information to assuage his hunger for knowledge on the subject in just those two books, but it would be a start. He gave a simple nod of acknowledgement, and awaited a response to his second point.
Realistically, Daxton had known that his statement had been a pointless one. At least, it was pointless on the most basic level, pointless to anyone who might neglect giving it any deeper thought. He had phrased it quite deliberately as a statement, and not as a question or a request, partly because he knew that a house transfer had never once been accomplished in the history of the school and therefore would not be granted to him, but for other reasons also. Reasons that had more to do with why he had even brought up the subject in the first place, reasons that had nothing to do with actually procuring an impossible house change, and everything to do with... well, even he was not yet entirely sure.
Yet that was the question he was being posed, and even though Daxton had expected it and thought his response through (and had indeed mentally rehearsed many potential outcomes of this interaction), he hesitated. One moment passed, then another, before he finally took the paper back, retrieved a pen from his pocket and wrote his response on the reverse, using the palm of his right hand as a sub-par writing surface. When he was done, he handed it back, keeping his expression quite impassive as though he was not fully aware of his dodging the question.
'I did not ask anything.'
By now, Daxton was quite finished investigating the effects of Bubble Head Charm, even though there was much more that could be learned from it. Instead, he watched Airey Flamsteed closely.
Of course. A misstep that the astronomer should have not only foreseen but avoided. Precise language, right. Ravenclaws especially seemed to be basking in that this term. Pinching the bridge of his nose, Airey tried his best not to look amused by Mr. Prince's answer.
"No, no you did not," he chuckled. "Allow me to rephrase." Not that the man was actually asking permission. "Why do you want to move?" Want. The boy's own word. It was...an intriguing choice.
