Never in his wildest daydreams would he believe any piece of literature would wind up saving his life. But Frankie owed a million thanks to the author of Twelve Fail-Safe Ways to Charm Witches. It was pure genius and guaranteed to get him some brownie points with Hady. Not that he needed them because he was already the most perfect boyfriend anyone could ever have, but going above and beyond never hurt anyone -- especially if that meant more kissing.
Instead of getting a head-start on studying for his OWLs, the blond had been planning this surprise date all day. He consulted his gift from above, got the house-elves to prepare him a basket of food, and asked for a few favours here and there. Before arriving at the office to make sure everything was perfect, he had stopped at the owlery to get Pancake to deliver a quick note to Hady, wherever she happened to be. Five o'clock was quickly approaching, and all he had left to do was put the finishing touches together.
"Blanket, check. Food, check," the Gryffindor quietly muttered to himself, making sure that everything was laid out as it should be. On the floor a checkered blanket had been set down, a picnic basket of food place on the middle of it. "And flowers, check," he added, holding a small bouquet in his hands, as he stared into the burning embers while they danced in the fireplace.
Now all that was needed was the girlfriend. And if his timing was correct, she would be arriving in any moment.
