Wait did she really just hug him. What was going on. He did not save her life or anything. First years were weird. He did get a favor out if it so it was all good he thought. You know besides that creepy laugh that she said she heard also. So he was not going crazy. That was good and unsettling.

"Sounded like a little girl giggling. Which is just creepy"

He was no gryffindor. So he was not just going to investigate the noise. Could be many things.
