Dot had some work to do, and it was sometimes really nice to work in the common room among her classmates. Unless everyone was feeling especially destructive and noisy, a little company and a flat place to work was very welcome. Dot brought her project bag down to the common room and curled up in one of the chairs near the portholes.

She wasn't alone. "If you sit over here, you can sometimes see the squid come by. And actually, I've seen mermaids too, but they aren't as friendly." Dot pulled a length of fabric from her project bag and charmed a needle and thread to work their way through it.
