Seriously, she was probably such a jerk.
But she wasn’t.
She just wanted to use her cello.
Leaning the case down on the ground she began to set up a music stand, a seat and then turned back to her cello and its case. The cello, unlike its case was clean and shiny and nearly free of fingerprints. Lifting it out of the case along with the bow she sat down in the little chair and began tuning the instrument…not bad the trip and her care of it hadn’t let it go out of tune that badly….the hairs on her bow were nice, taught and she was ready with her bow rosin’d.
“Let’s do this” she muttered to herself and slowly began dragging the bow back and forth her fingers pressing into the strings as she played the instrument. Only stopping a minute into the song to change songs pausing to turn on the piano-section she had a friend record that summer...the new song being one that she loved from a film she had made her sister’s boyfriend introduce her to. Carl was busy exploring the Hogwarts Castle. It was huge and every single floor had something to explore. There were also a lot of facilities he had not read about in his text books about the school. Like this music room! He was a bit disappointed when he first found out that music was not taught at Hogwarts - not that he was any good. He liked listening to music.
And you know what was better? Somebody was playing the Star Wars theme on a cello. That was absolutely amazing because it was one of his favorite films. Carl stood outside listening for a moment, then walked in to find ... "Hey, Mel!" He smiled brightly. He had always thought of this girl as fun and mischievous, and would not have guessed that there was a classic?sort of side to her. "You. Are. Brilliant." He commented when the piece was over.
