"Mm, I doubt they see it as him indulging them." And she needed coffee. How long could a conversation continue before she needed another cup in her life? How long was it appropriate to leave her dog with a stranger so she could get coffee and flirt up a storm with some hotties.

She hadn't rated anyone really since Nate had left. She'd wanted to, oh she really had. But she had been hit by every sort of heartbreak possible for someone who didn't have feelings like that. It had included a few evenings in her house with ice cream and a few nights with friends and then an extensive amount of time at work, pretending that everything was okay.

Pretending.

But now it was okay. Now she wasn't going to let any man into her life. She didn't need them when she was doing so fine for herself. Briar would be going to school in a few years so it would just be Eli and Levi. No problems there.

Kiera found herself involuntarily, as was always the case, flushing at the thought of children. It was a thought she had not entertained much at all, being too wrapped up in her own career and stopping to smell the daisies every chance presented to her. But hearing how things were progressing with her brother, things she honestly never thought would happen to him and thus pleased her greatly, had initiated similar thoughts in her mind. But it was a topic of conversation not yet breached with Atticus, not to that extent at least. More at a passing glance of 'do you ever?' to which her answer had been an assertive 'of course!'

But then there was also the matter that Kiera was quite traditional in certain ways and before that could happen other things needed to. Which was why she happened a quick glance towards her left and and blushed further.

"Well, he is darling either way," she smiled, giving the pup an affectionate kiss on his furry forehead.

"Nor is my brother. Deathly afraid of them, actually," she said as she finally rose to her feet and...well...not what DID she do? The open spot on the bench beside the woman seemed like a quaint option, so Kiera timidly moved to sit beside her. With significant space between the two of them. She could use this opportunity to finally tend to her shoe. "You...don't mind, do you?" she inquired, her hand on the heel of her shoe as she moved to slip it off.
