¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Katherine didn't react in the slightest when Tory sat next to her. She still felt dead, so she didn't even hear his comment about her shoes - which should concern Tory if he was that type of a nice person who only had a 'friendly' rivalry with people. She did, however, remove them off the table when the professor told them to. She would wear them later. For now, she just wanted to listen to the explanation Professor would offer them.
...
If there was one thing Katherine absolutely hated, it was injustice. And right now, she was subject to the worst injustice of her short life. The notion that he was going to award older students five EXTRA points was so SO ABSURD, because it relegated being a first year to being inferior, like they didn't deserve any extra points for trying, like their birth date was something they could control. What he meant was that being older and therefore knowing how to cast a simple spell deserved special care. This had nothing to do with 'team work' or whatever. Team work was helping those who struggled; but the first years didn't even struggle, for they hadn't learnt anything to even fail at in the first place. She didn't even listen to the rest of his speech, nor did she even consider sharing her concerns. It would just land her in more trouble. No sir, once the professor dismissed them, she silently and calmly changed back into her own shoes and got her bag to walk out without offering Tory and the professor even a look. |
