Mind made up, she was about to take a step towards the Lake when he felt a tap on her shoulder and heard the voice of Samurai Jace. Rachel turned to smile at him. "Thank you. You did eve better. Was that you first time playing, Jace?'' He certainly did not play as though it had been the first time but she thought she would ask anyway.
She looked down at the doll in her arms. "A doll,'' the girl said, holding it out to show him. "Isn't she beautiful? I found her on the Hogwarts express and so I'm trying to find its owner. Do you know anyone who lost a doll?"
Jace, who would like to keep himself clean all the time, was actually surprised when he took the initiative to step up to the plate and play Gobstones. It wasn’t his first time, since it was introduced to him by his papa a few years ago...and people could tell that he didn’t like it one bit...especially when he lost to his dad, the ball squirting putrid substance on him.
“No.” Jace grinned and shrugged.
“I guess I got lucky. The Ravenclaws wouldn’t be able to win it without you though. You’re really good!” Jace beamed, nodding enthusiastically.
“By the way, did you see Ravenclaw’s record for Gobstones? We haven’t championed since...18 years ago! You reckon we can snag the cup this time around?” Jace asked, sort of...implying that they should continue to play for the team. Their house could use more trophies, right?
The Ravenclaw had to lean back just a tad, when the doll was shown to him. It was the typical western, porcelain doll Rachel was holding. Not as attractive as the dolls he’d usually see during the Doll Festival back in Japan.
“She is.” Jace lied. He was more attracted to the Hina Dolls since it looked more oriental.
“No, but that’s odd.” The Ravenclaw said, scratching the back of his head as he examined the doll’s face.
“Why would someone just lose it on the train? It looks expensive to be just...missing.” His mother has her own Hina doll, and he knows it to be very expensive since it is made of porcelain too. She’s very particular about it, that Jace found it rather silly.
"Maybe we can make a poster about it, and...ask the other prefects to post it in their House's announcement boards? We can ask TiaMarie-san to help us!" Jace suggested.
"We can also post one in the Student Bulletin Board? That way we'd be able to maximize our advertisment?"
