The mashed potatoes poofed away.
"Now you try, um..." They hadn't met really yet. After last night, and Haddie and Kitty being in the only two in trouble, it wasn't surprising the girl knew Haddie's name. "Don't tell..." She was sure she could remember it from the sorting ceremony, or at least from overhearing it in the dorm room last night. It definitely started with a.... letter. Gee, you think, Haddie? "Actually, yeah do tell me."
“Scourgify..”
Olivia repeated the word…the incantation Haddie had told her, listening as she explained that their head of house had taught it to them. Her fellow first year demonstrating it for her as well, those potatoes seemingly having no chance against the spell. “Nifty…” she mused mildly impressed. It could definitely come in handy given this terms perchance for messes so far.
“…Olivia,” she supplied before focusing and trying it out herself on some cooked peas and corn. “Scourgify!” It wasn’t as neat and clear as Haddie’s work was, but it was an accomplishment and could be improved.
And made things much easier.
