Maybe the rest of the year could be a nice, normal school year at Hogwarts? Somehow, Garreth had his doubts. Eh, maybe the most important thing for now was to focus on the problem at hand. There was still the matter of that one Pygmy Puff that ended up in the vase by the far wall! Pocketing his wand again, Garreth hurried, eager to impress
Mr. Kitridge, and stuck his arm into the vase, attempting to fish out the puff. Once he'd gotten a firm hold of it, he stepped quickly across the common room towards the head of house and presented the final puff.
"I think that's all of them, sir."
Suddenly remembering the puff he'd launched toward Jace, he shot a glance over towards the other boy and down at his puff crate.
"You got it, right?" he asked, bending forward to try to spot the squirming critters. This kid was pretty quick and obviously very capable of thinking on his feet. There were few things in the world that Garreth respected more than a sharp mind.
"You were pretty good back there." he smiled at Jace and extended a hand towards him.
"I'm Garreth." he introduced himself warmly. He'd been doing a lot of that lately, and was getting better at it. At least, he thought so.
Jace fell unceremoniously on his backside as the last puffskein was removed magically by Mr. Kitridge from the girl’s face. What was that about, really? It looked like they will all have to remain vigilant for the rest of the school term, seeing that unexpected events kept on happening. It was just their second night, and this already happened.
Turning his attention to the boy he helped earlier, Jace looked up and gave him a grin.
“Yes I did. Look it’s sleeping now.” He said pointing to the crate, and in it was a pofle, huddled closely together. Merlin, hopefully they’re not scheming another attack.
Oh, and introductions!
“Hello, Garreth. I’m Jace.” He said bowing his head to him.
“And thank you, for helping me. You did very well with your spellwork.” The half-Japanese said.
“Would you like to keep one?” he asked the boy as he held up the crate and showed it to his new friend. His cat could use some company, really.
