SPOILER!!: Storyteller
Yes, Hady, that's how we got them. "It's true," Zeke nod his head slowly building up some suspense before launching into his story. "We got to this druid temple ruin in the north, and the first thing I had to do was find the entrance - which was easy, you know, like, just used an amulet to scout the location... didn't take long till we found it, so I opened it." This was easily the most boring part of the story, so he was rushing it. "Anyway, we got inside and we were looking for an artefact, a tablet. We walked down this long, dark tunnel with roots hanging down over our heads until we reached the end, and there it was..." and now it was time for the fun part. "The tablet was just hovering there, suspended in thin air, ready for the taking." He gave Hady a look here, she was following, yes? "Anyway, before jumping right into the thick of things, Daphne had me identify the curse on the item, which was actually harder than we thought because it didn't follow the usual format, it was foreign. I managed to decipher most of it, and we figured it was safe enough to activate, that way we could know for sure what it was and get the tablet." And here he braced himself, a sly grin curling his lips. "Soooo... I grabbed it, activating the curse. Everything was fine for about a second or two, and then all hell broke loose... literally. The tablet started weeping liquid fire and it spread everywhere, concentrated parts formed orbs of fire and before we knew it they were exploding, sending a rain of flames around us and that's when we realised. Cursed fire... in the form of menace and massive Cornish pixies started attacking us, their wings and claws bearing down on us, so we had to get out. The roots from the ceiling of the tunnel were on fire, the dirt was caving, cursed fire demons chasing us, and all we had time for was to run." Two of his fingers found the scar on his neck as he ran it along its length. "Part of the tunnel caved in, almost hitting us and that's when one of the fire demons got me, clawed at my face, there were others having at my legs too, but my pants proved to be ample protection. Anyway, managed to shake it off and we got around the tunnel block... Hady, we ran for our lives, we were lucky to get out." Mmhhm. You're very lucky to have him here in one piece, don't take it for granted. Nevermind the fact that he was exaggerating the story, and that Daphne had in fact carried him out, but the rest was true... more or less. "The scars will stay, there's not much that can treat cursed fire."

Leaning back a little, Zeke peered into the fountain again, almost disappointed that it wasn't as temperamental as the one in Diagon Alley. Boring. Hady was right though a proper bed and running water... those were a must. Zeke smiled, acknowledging that they were thinking alike now. It was what it was, he could work around it.

It didn't faze him when Hady averted her gaze, he too was having difficulty maintaining eye contact. It was especially hard when others were moving through and around the courtyard, there was just so much to observe, so much to engage the senses. Still, he thought Hady was CRAY-ZEEE for doing so much. What was the point? Who even cared once you had a job? No one, that's who. He was content with doing his nine and doing them well, girlfriends took up time and he preferred that to taking up Astro and HoM. Better things in life. "Well good luck," he said sincerely. A favour though? "Sure, anything. What's up?"

Zeke hadn't needed to tell her that it was true. She already had a feeling it was just by the way he was speaking to her. Plus even though they tended to joke around and tease each quite a bit Hady truly believed he wouldn't mess around with something like this. So as it was the very second he began telling his story the slightly taller yet still small girl was all ears. Hady listened so intently to him that a bomb probably could've gone off at their feet and she wouldn't have even noticed. Well alright that's a small exaggeration right there but still it was close.

Not as sound was made from her except for a tiny gasp when she realized how serious a situation her best friend had been in. The use of her name towards the end of his story and the simple fact that he had to have said that he was lucky to get out had her frowning a little. Reaching over she gave him a light smack to his upper arm (since she didn't want to actually knock him into the water). "I swear if you would've died I would've found a way to bring you back and harm you myself." Her feelings were a jumble right then. Anger, sadness, maybe even a bit of fear and slightly annoyance even were all being felt. As quickly as one feeling mad an appearance it was shoved aside by another. The 'threat' she gave was meaningless really and it showed as she quickly pulled him into a hug with a quiet, "I'm glad you're alright," before letting him go and sitting back. Scars were one thing but losing ones life was a whole other story.

"Thanks," Hady grinned at him. Not that she even needed it. She would do well. No doubt about it. She did really appreciate it though. "Don't worry it's nothing bad. Just if you seeing me crashing and burning due to everything I'm taking on this term, yell at me?" Yes, Zeke, she had just given you permission to yell at her.
