Carl grinned and nodded. That was some good advice - never ask the wand to do something, tell it to do it. He guessed it would apply to other subjects and spells too. He looked down at the small box in his hand, knowing from the directions on the board that it was locked too.

So the Colloportus charm was similar to Alohomora. "Got it," Carl said and watched as the older girl cast the spell. "Colloportus, Colloportus, Colloportus." He muttered the word softly before pointing his wand at the cabinet lock again, his hold on the wooden stick firm. "Colloporrr- uh." He sighed, feeling his face reddening slightly. "Colloportus." He repeated, but this time the hand holding his wand jerked a little. With a nervous glance at his mentor, he readjusted his wand and said clearly, "Colloportus!" There was a click as the cabinet locked itself.

"Yes!" He cheered, breaking into a grin once more. "Thanks for all your help. I am Carl, by the way." The Hufflepuff said, seeing as he now got the hang of the unlocking and locking charms and the girl had already completed her first tasks. Now, he had to move on to unlocking his own box!
