| be curious, not judgmental Luckily, no one seemed to mind that he was on his own, avoiding the food, and Callum was quite enjoying being a wallflower until Flamsteed addressed him. Not hungry? "Oh... sorry, sir," came his response, unsure of exactly why he was apologetic, and a hand came up to rub the back of his neck uneasily as he straightened up and shifted his weight, moving almost as if he was going to head straight for the food again, but he was still hesitating. Had everyone else already gotten enough food? He did not want to take some and leave anyone else without...
But, luckily, Char made her grand arrival, which empowered Callum and he lit up properly for the first time that morning, and he followed her over to the table. He, too, sought out the pancakes, and he stacked a fair few onto his plate in addition to a sampling of everything else, too. He was still concerned about any late arrivals not getting any, so he thought if he took a little bit of everything it was better than taking a whole lot of one thing. What if he took the last of one particular thing that was someone else's favorite? He did not fancy being a dream-stealer, so he kept it simple.
As he moved to follow Char to sit wherever she chose to lead them, Callum helped himself to a bit of toast, and just as he did so, Flamsteed began the meeting. Right off the bat, Callum was confused. Did... he need to be concerned that Flamsteed might turn him into a werewolf? What in Merlin's name was that particular comment about? He was unsure, but it was worrying, especially as he had already taken a few bites of his breakfast. At... least Flamsteed was assuring him it would not happen, but it was the principle of the matter, and Callum was incredibly suspicious. What had gone down before that it needed reassurance in the first place?
As the Head of House pressed on to the topic of the meeting, Callum continued to eat quietly and absorb his words and the sentiments behind them. There were some questions that he had immediately, such as... what were Gryffindor stereotypes? What would he be written off as now that he was a Gryffindor? He thought that would be helpful to know so he could follow Flamsteed's dream of crushing the stereotypes, but a few others chimed in seeking similar clarity, so he remained silent, enjoying an especially hefty forkful of pancake.
But then the next bit? Was he not... encouraging them to have a food fight? Of course, moments later he amended his statement considerably, but Callum could not help but wonder if the man would actually let them orchestrate a proper food fight, one that would not be insulting to the house elves. That would certainly put their Gryffindor energies to good use in the form of house bonding, would it not? Surely the man had seen how eager the majority of the house had been to take part, and those who had not taken part sure seemed to want to if the situation had been more appropriate, so really, more than anything, that was something Callum wanted to ask. However, of course, he continued to stay silent, eating his breakfast while listening to the other's suggestions on what they could do as a house moving forward.
Quite a talkative bunch they were, were they not? And quite animated, too.
