Lex couldn't help but gape at the starry ceiling, looking around the deep blue common room, undecided if it felt like the bottom of the sea or the edge of the cosmos. He nearly bumped into the prefect (Thompson? Thornton?) on his way to take a seat.
"Sorry," he muttered, taking a proffered raffle ticket and taking a seat in an armchair. He curled his legs up, the small boy fitting his whole body easily in its cushiony embrace. From his secure perch, he watched curiously as his fellows, soon to be classmates, filed in around him. |
