I feel like in the wizarding world, parents have ways of finding things out about what their kids are up to. I mean they wouldn't just send their kids off to a boarding school for ten months and be all like "See ya in 10 months kids"
well some might but for the most part, parents have TABS on their wizarding kids and know what they're up to. Even without direct correspondence from the professors
