Yeah, Ariadne would be pretty embarrassed, too, but she didn't tell the girl that. She was just glad it hadn't happened to her, but honestly, she was surprised it hadn't. She'd actually predicted she'd be the one in the water, and since they weren't in the castle just yet, she still wasn't sure it wouldn't happen. "I doubt anybody saw it anyway," she told the girl. "Its so dark. I didn't even see your face until you got in the boat with me."

"I've actually been to Hogwarts before, but not as a student. My mom used to be a professor here, and I came to the castle with her a few times," she said. "I've never had to ride a boat to the castle, though." She cast a glance up toward the castle. The older students were probably already there. No fair. They had a nice, water-free ride. "I'm Ariadne Greingoth," she said.

Whoa. Was that somebody IN the water? As in, just bobbing along like they were out for a swim? "You should probably get into a boat," she said. "I've heard there are creatures like grindylows in the water." Scary. Very scary. Scarier than the embarrassment of falling into the water in front of all your peers. "Do you want to ride with us?" she asked. Their boat was nearby, after all.
