With the way the Sorting Hat had been brainstorming on his head, he was almost sure that he'd be placed in Ravenclaw. Hence, the look of (excited) shock was still present on the eleven-year-old's face when he approached his new house table.
He was grinning and looking around at his new housemates as he looked for a place to sit. Genny was devouring a delicious pile of fries when her eyes caught Sharksy on their table, the GRYFFINDOR'S table. So he wasn't in Ravenclaw as he thought, was he? How did she miss his sorting?!! She felt a little guilty, but grinned at him from across the table and threw her origami crown at him to draw his attention to her. Hiiiiiii, housemate. Back to inhaling those fries, though. Quote:

You only need to ask and I shall deliver..." Moments before the food fight, Geneva Tate was offered a tour by none other than Sir Nicholas. Let this go down in history, okay? Okay. PLUS, he actually recognized her from her father! "Okay!" She squeaked excitedly at his offer, and her feet kicked under the table a little too hard rattling the goblets nearby. Quote:

And then...came the rain. The steady unpleasant fall of cold rain upon the entire Great Hall. NOW there was food flying everywhere and Sir Nicholas encouraged them to protect Hogwarts' Dignity, and students were attacking professors and prefects alike. Genny didn't get under the table like those uncourageous Ravenclaws, no. She just knelt a liiiiittle and peered from about the table's edge watching everyone suddenly finding interest in throwing edible objects at each other. She did not participate. Not because it wasn't fun but because she was hungry and too tired for this.
Her hand caught her unfinished plate of fries and quickly slid it over to her so she could finish it here, where she knelt sort-of under the table. The top of her head was the only thing visible above the table and it was drenching wet. But the fries were protected. |
