This boat seemed to be quieter than the others; no sound of impeding watery doom or something about a bird. She didn't have a fear of water, but she didn't exactly know how to swim either. Sharks and squids were all the same to her.
"Mind me joinin' ya?" she asked, as she started to step in.
As Genny sat down across from him, he simply scooted his legs in so she wouldn't trip on them. And as for that question, well he took it as a rhetorical one. Clearly he meant that he hadn't been surprised that it was she who was so clumsy that she knocked him over in the process of getting into the boat. And clearly, she must have known that.
So instead he gave his usual, close-lipped smile. He was happy to have her sitting here.
"Nope, I like sharks best of all." Though he had read about the squid and the other creatures living in the lake at Hogwarts. "I heard it's pretty rare to see the giant squid..." His eyes drifted out over the water.
That is, until he heard someone asking to sit in the boat. Sam looked up to see another girl their age, and he shifted his bum over some to make room for her. "Enter at your own risk. That girl there might make you wipe out in the process." Genny, naturally.
