There was another girl, looked around Alice's age.. She said her name was Ava. "Nice to meet you Ava! I'm Alice!" There were so many new people.. How would she remember all the names?
Some boy (Zeke) smiled and waved her way, so of course she did the best. Her blue eyes, scanning him and all the other older students. She would be like them one day, looking at the younger ones.
Then.. some girl.. Luckily another redhead, but even so.. she hugged Alice.. Alice was shocked.. what would she even say? The girl did say sorry.. "Oh.. well it's okay.. my name's Alice." Her Scottish accent popping out as she smiled.. The girl was older and pretty and what Alice hoped to be.
What made what float like that...?--Oh! She must have meant the quill. Blaise spared a quick glance at it, just to be sure he knew how closely it was hovering and to be sure no one had swatted it out of the way or anything. "Magic. It's a charmed to do that whenever I tell it to. The quill's got a different kind of magic that makes it take down everything you say." Albeit somewhat different than you actually said it but after years of use, Blaise was typically able to decipher (with some error) what had actually happened when his quill took things down. "It's great for making up adventures...not so great in potions class when you gotta make your notes REAL specific but still loads of fun." SPOILER!!: Trixie Quote:

Of course she had absolutely nothing to worry about. Everyone at the Gryffindor table was so nice. So nice in fact, that an older boy was greeting her and asking her to be apart of an initiation. "Really?" Trixie clapped her hand together in excitement. "What do I have to do?"
If the excited clap was anything to go off of, this was about to be another recruit for his cousin. Brilliant! "Oh yeah, real easy initiation, you just gotta hurl food at anyone wearing a badge once the food appears after the speech. You can aim for the Head Boy 'cause his head's so big you can't miss it--or you could try for another table if you think your aims good enough." He himself would be trying for the Ravenclaw Prefect if he could, preferably with something sticky and hard to get out after even WITH magic. "Harmless stuff really." Quote:

"Wait... what?" he leaned closer, lowering his voice, TOTALLY curious. "Did you have a plan or something?"
Because he certainly didn't. "I'm happy you decided to ask." He said with a wide grin that promised he was up to no good. Blaise leaned in a little closer too, glad Lance could see the need for keeping things hush hush from the bigger heads. "Got some Prefects who thought to start the term being right awful jerks to Bentley so we're gonna teach 'em a lesson. How? By throwing food at 'em when it gets here." Pause. "You like stuffing your robe with food, yeah?" Something his quill had picked up on when he hadn't. "Bet no one will notice in the middle of all the throwing." Perfectly foolproof. They had to do.
JUST THINK OF THEIR FACES COVERED IN MASHED POTATO! SPOILER!!: Zeke before he leaves Quote:

And somehow he didn't think Candice would appreciate pudding in her hair, or Yoongi mashed potato on his face... as amusing as the idea was. If it were to happen though, he wouldn't object to being the first to break Blaise's conditions. The boys face would look great with a layer of cream.
He thought that was a no. It sounded like a no and Blaise was prepared to cut his losses until Zeke finally said he was in. PHEW. Good. Recruiting was hard after they passed Third Year and you had to do a whole lot more to be convincing. Still, he'd be happy enough to hear the boy was in before he took his leave of the table. Where was he going? Was he gonna come back in time?
Blaise gave him a small wave as he headed off, hoping he wouldn't forget. SPOILER!!: Char and mention of Bastien Quote:

Wait what? Fun later? "Sure!" Charlotte said immediately, having no need to actually ask what said fun would entail. She was up for it. FUN! YEAH!
See, this was what he could appreciate about Charlotte more often than not. She didn't even CARE what the fun was, she was already completely up for it and that was absolutely fantastic. One less person he had to actively think about ways of winning over for the cause.
For a moment, he was proper distracted by the way she was watching the sorting and even he had to admit he was interested in some of them--LIKE LOOK LIV GOT GRYFFINDOR WHICH WAS REALLY AMAZING AND NOT SLYTHERIN!
Her cousin was a Slytherin though, a Slytherin sitting right there at the Gryffindor table. Blaise gave him a smile and a small wave, casually wondering whether or not he'd have liked to be in on the plan too.

Did he say food? "I have some chocolate frogs if you want?" She took out some chocolate frogs from her pocket and offered him all of it. She didn't eat chocolate so he could have them. That if he's into chocolate frogs And its her way to say thank you for warning her about that bugs. It was obviously true what they said about one good turn deserving another. There he'd just saved her from getting food all over and now she was offering him chocolate frogs. Merlin, he should try this savior thing more often if this was the outcome! "I'd love one!" Kid was practically bouncing where he stood now, all grins. "Do you have jelly slugs too? I'd love some if you did."
All the candy he'd bought on the train was meant for the feast but after another hour or so of nothing but country side, sheep and grass the poor boy couldn't help himself and had eaten it all. "You're much nicer than Yoongi is." Said with the intention of the older boy hearing him. He WAS standing right next to him afterall--and was awful proud of himself for all this planning within earshot but still not being busted. SPOILER!!: Liv and Char in here too Quote:

That was...until it came time to greet her new housemates.
HOUSE. MATES. GAAAH. "HELLO, EVERYONE!!!" Liv bounced along, pausing here and there to fling her arms around random people. Her fellow Gryffindors. OH, and CHAR! THERE WAS CHAR...and TORY...and BLAISE...Olivia took a moment to properly fling herself at Blaise, giggling about carriage conversations. SEE?! She'd made it into the Lion House, duh. No sweat at all.
After she'd spent herself in raining down her affections, the itty blonde FINALLY sat. "Guys...guuuuys..." There was a drop in her voice; so Liv could whisper. Lest anyone heard that wasn't supposed to...See, it wasn't her plan. Therefore, not her place to blab! "...are we still doing it?"
Mischief. ALWAYS with the mischief.
....Where was Bentley?
He wanted to say it was sudden--and it kinda was considering he was just asking for jelly slugs from Candice while throwing a nice shady palm tree above Mr. Head Boy--but from the corner of his eyes he HAD seen Liv heading down from the dais, hugging anyone close enough. Consequently, he wasn't completely caught off guard when she suddenly flung herself at him and there would be no toppling over for either of them. Strong Blaise was strong. "Well it took you long to convince that dingy hat." He said with the widest of grins and a big hug for her. Now it was official. Now she never had to wear Slytherin robes again.
Her sitting should have been the invitation for him to finally take a seat as well but the boy remained standing where he was, choosing instead to lean closer for the hushed words spoken next. "O'course we are. Nothing's gonna change our minds." And not with the way Yoongi was being right now. The boy's attention shifting to Char and he suddenly remembered that she'd agreed without even listening to the fun. Right. Someone had to clue her in. "We're gonna attack the Prefects with food because they were rotten to Bentley on the train--like a food fight."
By now he gave very little caution to what he said, afterall, he'd been discussing it all evening while standing next to the Head Boy who had nothing to say. Older kids never paid attention. SPOILER!!: Ava Quote:
Originally Posted by RandomRaven Ava listened to Blaise more about the 'fun' plan and she blinked when the boy mentioned that the Prefect was being a jerk to Bentley? Wasn't prefect supposed to be nice and helpful to the younger ones? She didn't really like when those guys who're supposed to be good role model turned into a jerk. They're like... using their authority for a bad thing. "Okay, then.. I'm still in." She nodded to him. "Great! We begin as soon as Moxley gives her speech!" Not by choice per say but because there would be no food until then. Plenty of time for the Prefects to atone for their nasty ways but he didn't see that happening with either Ravenclaw Prefect and those were the first two he would target. "What'd you think Professor Airey will say?"....If he could still speak...uh....what was happening with their Head of House and could it continue until after the food fight?
Just saying. SPOILER!!: Amur Quote:
Originally Posted by Tazenhani The moment Amur started trying to eavesdrop on the Maggie-Zeke conversation, she instantly regretted it. It was the common problem of tuning into anything, white noise or private conversations. Once tuned in, it was hard to tune out. And Amur WANTED to. Very badly. They were speaking quietly enough, but every now and then above the din and roar of the great hall, Amur caught one to a few of the uncomfortable words going between them.
It had her shifting and looking for some distraction, ANY distraction, for her little ears. Thankfully, there was Blaise. Un-thankfully, he didn't make her feel any less confused about things. For a moment, she sort of blinked at him. Sure, she liked fun. She liked food fights too. Especially with so many people. But, did Blaise realize that socking the Prefects and Head's was akin to socking the Professors? Did Blaise realize that it would probably make them turn their noses up MORE at the younger kids? Especially if no words were spoken?
She was confused. Conflicted. TORN APART!
Her expression showed it all, as she shifted again. "....Why not...try talking to them first?" And talking as in angry yelling and arguing, because of COURSE there was injustice here. "They may not....get the point if you don't do that first."
Cause, well really WHO could say no to a food fight? But, perhaps she was going to? Perhaps, this would be the FIRST TIME.
She didn't know. She really didn't know. And there were so many people joining them now. A lot of excited voices, a happy backdrop to the misery she could FEEL radiating from the turned back of Zeke. Amur shifted, and tried to look around for some happy to latch onto. There was Headless Nick! And other people she knew by name, but didn't really know.
And there was suddenly no Zeke beside her. No Zeke at the Gryffindor table. No Zeke in the dining hall at all! Amur stared after him for a long moment, torn between jumping up and running after him and well, feeling like her butt was glued to the seat. Turning slowly, Amur peeked over at Maggie, not wanting to look too intrusive. She hadn't heard a LOT, honestly, but....she'd heard more than she should have.
Biting her bottom lip, Amur quickly looked to her plate and poked it. Where was the food and the speech? "Talking never works. Not with older kids. They just ignore everything you say--some tell you plainly that they don't wanna talk to you so you better shoo and others don't even bother they just walk away." But he didn't expect her to understand because she WAS an older kid afterall. "Bentley was only trying to talk to them earlier and they got rotten about it. I think we're passed the point of verbal communication."
He didn't wanna talk to them, he didn't think he liked them enough now that he knew they were being mean to his cousin.
The way his brows had been knitted, you would never guess that they would suddenly relax. "Unless....unless....Amur you may have a point! We can tell 'em we wanna talk, then ambush 'em and make SURE they look as loaded as the feast. That's smart work! I should talk to Bentley about it." It'd be easier access than throwing from across the Great Hall too--though he was still prepared to do so if Bentley declined. SPOILER!!: Yoongi Quote:

Ha no way. Besides, the kid had legs himself, if he wanted food so bad he could get it himself. His Head Boy status did not mean he had to run errands to keep the younger ones pleased. “Just wait like everyone else” No more whining. And again he had no clue about his clean comment so he chose to ignore it. Probably some slang.
And then there was the Head Boy he was still standing next to in a vain hope of getting some food out of him. At least Candice had been nicer and offered him a chocolate frog, when would Yoongi prove useful to him? Blaise regarded the older boy and the way he seemed to be growing tired of him--hopefully all things his quill was scribbling down. "I am waiting." He told him in his most matter of fact tone. "Waiting very patiently." Though perhaps for very different reasons. When the food came, he wouldn't be EATING it, Yoongi's face would be and his clothes and his hair and everything on the Head Boy for that matter. "It's just taking longer than I'd like. Do you have candy?" SPOILER!!: Bentley Quote:

He'd need to stick his head up a few times to see who certain feet belonged to though so that he didn't get the wrong people.
"Keep recruiting. I'm getting back to work.."
The second year crawled on his knees and headed back up the table towards the prefects with his wand clutched between his little fingers.
Now...where were those prefect feet?
Though his cousin had told him to continue recruiting, Blaise couldn't help but think that Amur might have had a point. This was like casting themselves in the legs attacking the Prefects in plain view of the Professors and while Blaise didn't particularly mind that bit, he'd like to know that if he was gonna get in trouble then he had to get EVERYONE on his list. "While you're working figure out how we're gonna get the Ravenclaw Prefects." He muttered before seeing his cousin off.
