A few mentions; also for anyone who wants her :) ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~
The moment Amur started trying to eavesdrop on the Maggie-Zeke conversation, she instantly regretted it. It was the common problem of tuning into anything, white noise or private conversations. Once tuned in, it was hard to tune out. And Amur WANTED to. Very badly. They were speaking quietly enough, but every now and then above the din and roar of the great hall, Amur caught one to a few of the uncomfortable words going between them.
It had her shifting and looking for some distraction, ANY distraction, for her little ears. Thankfully, there was Blaise. Un-thankfully, he didn't make her feel any less confused about things. For a moment, she sort of blinked at him. Sure, she liked fun. She liked food fights too. Especially with so many people. But, did Blaise realize that socking the Prefects and Head's was akin to socking the Professors? Did Blaise realize that it would probably make them turn their noses up MORE at the younger kids? Especially if no words were spoken?
She was confused. Conflicted. TORN APART!
Her expression showed it all, as she shifted again. "....Why not...try talking to them first?" And talking as in angry yelling and arguing, because of COURSE there was injustice here. "They may not....get the point if you don't do that first."
Cause, well really WHO could say no to a food fight? But, perhaps she was going to? Perhaps, this would be the FIRST TIME.
She didn't know. She really didn't know. And there were so many people joining them now. A lot of excited voices, a happy backdrop to the misery she could FEEL radiating from the turned back of Zeke. Amur shifted, and tried to look around for some happy to latch onto. There was Headless Nick! And other people she knew by name, but didn't really know.
And there was suddenly no Zeke beside her. No Zeke at the Gryffindor table. No Zeke in the dining hall at all! Amur stared after him for a long moment, torn between jumping up and running after him and well, feeling like her butt was glued to the seat. Turning slowly, Amur peeked over at Maggie, not wanting to look too intrusive. She hadn't heard a LOT, honestly, but....she'd heard more than she should have.
Biting her bottom lip, Amur quickly looked to her plate and poked it. Where was the food and the speech?
