"Her questions were just...bothering me." Maggie bit her lip and looked down at their hands again, wrinkling her nose a little. Would that explain things? Would he...be upset now? Or-

At first Noel's 'Hi' didn't even register with Maggie. She'd successfully blocked out everything that went on around them. Only very slowly her brain recognized the voice and then apparently decided that it was worth her attention. "Noel." Despite the fact that she smiled at the Hufflepuff, she'd probably looked more thrilled to see him in the past.

No offense.

Bad timing? "Uhm." She glanced at Zeke. Kind of, yeah. But she also wasn't sure if they were really going to discuss things here at the start of term feast with nosy children everywhere anyway. So, honestly, she didn't know. And she WAS happy to see Noel. Her smile suggested as much.

Frankly it was bad timing, but he looked to Maggie for her response. It didn't seem as if he was going to be getting his answers anyway.

AWKWARD.

Noel could tell something was off. REALLY REALLY off. And this was pure bad timing on his part. He didn't know about her boyfriend, but he had never seen Maggie like this before? Or that forced smile of hers. It bothered him of course but he couldn't really do anything at the moment.

So he had to butt out, "Hi, yes. Um" Pause "Okaaaaaaay ... I am going to go now" the seventeen year old nodded with an awkward smile and turned to leave. Back to preteens then. Sigh.
