Maggie could feel his eyes on her but chose to ignore him for a few seconds longer, trying to calm herself down. It was fine. Everything was fine. She hadn't just ruined everything. Nope. She just needed some space that was it. Things would be back to normal at the feast. Being away from them now was already making her feel better. Him, really. She didn't feel that bad about what she'd said to Paige. Right now she was mostly upset about upsetting Zeke.

Meh.

Eventually she looked back at the boy's face, just staring back at him for a full second. "I'm hiding." Maggie justified her coming into his compartment. Yes that. She didn't even mind that she'd just shared that because seriously, that guy didn't talk to anyone so who would he tell? Did he even have any friends?
The staring continued for a good few moments longer; though Daxton would have prefered to read than to interact with anyone, his book would still be there later. In any case, he would be unable to focus on reading anything now that this stranger was in the compartment with him.

Not that she was much of a stranger at all. He knew her name - Magdalena Traulton - and had watched her duel last year in duelling club, just as he had watched everyone else. She was a Slytherin, he knew that too. He knew a lot of things.

And he now knew that she was hiding. Daxton blinked, and finally dragged his gaze away from Magdalena Traulton to look towards the compartment door, as if expecting to see a horde of pursuers, out for her blood. He wondered if there might be a reward for giving her up, though of course, if it was the assassins she was hiding from, Daxton would be able to collect no such reward. Though as far as he was aware, any potential assassins were devotedly after him.

As it was, he saw nobody through the window of the compartment door. At least, no hordes, no assassins (though they were far to stealthy to let themselves be seen). Just what appeared to be a girl dashing past the compartment and suddenly face-planting the floor. Daxton blinked, and looked back towards the girl inside his compartment. After a moment of consideration, he shuffled his notebook forwards from behind the novel he had been reading, and used an ordinary non-magical pen to neatly print a short message to the Traulton girl with the cascading hair. After a moment, he held up the notebook to be read.

'You are not very good at it.

What are you hiding from?'
