Look at those loose curls bouncing atop of his little boy's head as he bounced along the platform. Xavier sighed, loudly, for the what seemed like the hundredth time. Cornelius didn't take count of not even one sigh. Xavier sigh again, louder. Couldn't his child see that his heart was breaking bit by bit? Suuuure. Hogwarts was a big deal when a wizard turned eleven but a father's heart should be too! SIGH--
"Xavier," a French accented voice hissed next to him. "What is wrong?" The man looked over at his wife with eyes of a kicked puppy. Could she not sense his PAIN? Did she not FEEL it? THEIR baby boy was heading off for MONTHS to another place. Didn't she miss him already?
The Falmouth Falcons' owner was a smart man, so of course he didn't voice out those words. It would only hurt the light-of-his-life's feelings and she'd deck him on the back of his head. "He's leaving us, Ursulla," the grown man whined. "He's leaving and he's not even sad, look!" The child was practically GLOWING with excitement.
Ursulla smiled one of those rare smiles of hers; Xavier caught the sad pull to her lips. "He'll be fine. Cornelius will learn lots and become a proper wizard." She glanced at him. "Just like his father." Well, she was praying to Merlin not exactly like Xavier. It had been embarrassing--though she did not regret it--what happened during their seventh year...and before that. She hoped broom cupboards were forbidden to students nowadays.
Xavier's heart melted and he nodded, resigned. Not like he could kidnap his own son and deprive him from an education. 'Least it was Hogwarts and not Durmstrang. Bunch of hooligans. Save Pandora. She was a little angel in that place.
Pretending not to eavesdrop but totally eavesdropping, Cornelius' shoulders shook as he tried not to laugh. Just like his dad?! HAHAHA. That was funny. Oh, his mum had jokes.
Cornelius. Orion. Baltazar. was going to become his OWN person and create his own type of glory. He could already see it. That and he'd rather be more like his mum. She was powerful and super COOL. Cornelius bet she could kick butt harder than his dad did and that was saying something. She was his hero.
"Mum," he quipped. "Think I forgot my underwear." Random as that was, it was true. He couldn't remember if he'd told his house elf to pack them. Cruuuud.
