Dear Mother,
How are you and daddy? I hope you're okay. Um... look, a few days ago I had an accident with my telescope. It broke, and although I can borrow replacement telescopes from our Astronomy Professor, they said I have to buy a new one. So... I was hoping you could send me some money so I can send an order off for one, or if you could buy me one and send it to me.
I'm sorry. I don't even know what happened. I just dropped it accidentally. It just flew out of my mind!
