Even if she wasn’t totally sure why she was using the train from London. Couldn’t they have come from her grandparents’ home which wasn’t far from Hogwarts at all? Perhaps that was part of why she wasn’t so nervous over all things about to happen. But then she had been well prepared for this day, both physically and emotionally. Her trunk and cat carrier resting on a trolley currently in possession of her father who had made certain to clear his day to see her off.
“You have everything?” he asked, wanting to make sure…again. Sure almost anything left could be owled but Ethan was feeling anxious. This was his daughter…his first child. Going off on her own. It was a big deal to the auror. “Uh huh…I think so Dad,” Olivia tried to assure him, returning the offered hug before giving one to her mother. "Are you ready?” Aurora asked once they separated, a glance at the large clock nearby giving them plenty of time. But it wasn’t always good to be randomly lingering among all the muggle in Kings Cross for too long looking weird to passerbys that gave them too much attention. The small group resuming the walk to Platforms 9 and 10.
Woah....near collision as one girl stopped in front of her, her parents and trolley clear on other side. "Excuse me..." Olivia said politely as she side-stepped the girl who looked around her own age. There were no signs of any of her friends. Not even shiny teeth Corn. Rachel decided that she would look for them when she got on the platform. She was about to grasp her trolley's handle to start pushing it towards the Wall but stopped short at the voice. Her face lit up when she saw who it was. She had found someone she knew! "Hello, Olivia.'' Would the girl remember her? "Be careful, princess. Are you sure you don't want us to come with you?'' "I'm sure, daddy. You and mom have to leave. Your team's waiting for you.'' Rachel smiled sweetly at her parents but inside she was dying. She didn't want to leave her parents. She wanted to go on the expedition with them... she wanted to look for new plants too. Turning away, she blinked rapidly to rid tears that threatened to spill over. No, she could cry here. Not now. When she trusted herself to look at her parents again, she said. "I have company. Olivia and I can cross the barrier together.'' "Alright, Rachel. Write to us as soon as you can." Mae kissed her daughter's cheek. "Bye. We love you, princess.'' "I love you too.'' Rachel watched her parents head for their car. "Bye...'' She had been looking forward to Hogwarts since a very long time but she didn't know it would be this difficult to part with her parents. |
