He was trying to remind himself that his sole daughter was growing up and it was time he stopped being so protective of her but it was very difficult. "She will be fine, Phil. Stop worrying,'' Mae Watson reassured and lightly squeezed her husband's arm. "Have fun, Rachel. If you decide to stay for Christmas, let us know. Do you have everything you need?'' Rachel threw herself at her father, her arms going around his waist. "I will write as often as possible, daddy. Please don't worry about me. I want you and mommy to find many new plants as possible so you can tell me all about them when I write.'' The eleven year old shifted so that she was standing between her parents. One hand moved from her father's waist to her mother's so that she was hugging them together. "I love you both. Yes, mommy, I have everything.'' Her trunk was neatly stashed in a trolley, her favourite potted cactus perched neatly to one side of said trolley.
Rachel released her parents to look around at the station. Where were Garreth and Haddie? Henric? Katherine? Carl? Jace? Candice? Noelle and Hope? Mason? Benton? Brady? Were any of the friends she had made there as yet or had they crossed through the barrier already?
This was it…and Olivia was excited.
Even if she wasn’t totally sure why she was using the train from London. Couldn’t they have come from her grandparents’ home which wasn’t far from Hogwarts at all? Perhaps that was part of why she wasn’t so nervous over all things about to happen. But then she had been well prepared for this day, both physically and emotionally. Her trunk and cat carrier resting on a trolley currently in possession of her father who had made certain to clear his day to see her off.
“You have everything?” he asked, wanting to make sure…again. Sure almost anything left could be owled but Ethan was feeling anxious. This was his daughter…his first child. Going off on her own. It was a big deal to the auror. “Uh huh…I think so Dad,” Olivia tried to assure him, returning the offered hug before giving one to her mother. "Are you ready?” Aurora asked once they separated, a glance at the large clock nearby giving them plenty of time. But it wasn’t always good to be randomly lingering among all the muggle in Kings Cross for too long looking weird to passerbys that gave them too much attention. The small group resuming the walk to Platforms 9 and 10.
Woah....near collision as one girl stopped in front of her, her parents and trolley clear on other side. "Excuse me..." Olivia said politely as she side-stepped the girl who looked around her own age.
