"N--n--no...nooooo....." the first year squeaked sadly. Personal matters? Couldn't he just... handle those from the school? He looked down at the professor's hand, not wanting to shake it or or or fist bump it or anything, because that would mean recognizing that he was leaving, and Davie really, really didn't want to do that. He couldn't think of an elegant way to keep Sabel here, though, so he choked it up and let out a long sigh. "I... really appreciated your lessons, s-sir. I learned so much. I'll miss you." He looked down and somberly returned the first bump.
Why did all the GOOD ONES have to leave? That.......what
was that? That thing. Happening with David's face. And his eyes. And his voice?
Sabel sort of started at the kid as if he might explode right then and there. And the feast hadn't even started. Merlin, the kid was already wallowing in a soup of sadness. Goooood going Dakest. He nearly turned his fist-bump gesture into a face-palm one.
Still, there was hope. Even if David's return gesture was less than enthusiastic. Sabel kept his grin, kept his spirits and gave the kid's hair a ruffle. If anything stirred up energy in Hogwarts, it was messing with hair.
"And I really appreciated your involvement. You taught me a good deal too."
Pulling his hand back, Sabel grinned at the kid.
"And don't think this will be the last you'll see of me." He'd be around. What with Anastasia and Sander as friends, he would certainly make a point to check up on the kid.
