Lil' gooz | Sarangel | Junior Dweeb Yoongi Hyland say WHAT? Norah opened her mouth to reply with a resounding 'DUH' before shutting it again and watching him drink his water with a level of enthusiasm she reserved for winning races and finding flowers. For the split second after he'd asked the question, the answer had seemed pretty obvious. Yoongi was her friend, of course she wanted to see him over the summer. That's what friends did, right? Or something? She hadn't done much of it before, but surely her brothers wouldn't mind sharing her with Yoongi for a little bit. She'd make them not mind.
But then he was chugging water like he'd never encountered it before and she was actually thinking through what he'd said (apparently she was capable of doing that once in a while) and it wasn't sounding awfully similar to all those DATES with a capital EVERYTHING she'd only heard about from pretty much everybody ever. Everybody else went on those but she never went on those, and she wasn't entirely sure if Yoongi went on those but all of a sudden imagining him going on those was terribly unpleasant and could only be reconciled if she got to be there too. The thought didn't even feel that new, but she couldn't pinpoint a time where she'd ever thought of it before so instead of thinking back to all the times she'd thought about him (it wasn't her fault, okay?) she tried to think of what to say. "Uh." So far all she'd done was stare at him with a little smile that grew and grew until her mouth opened altogether and the words "Sounds like your best idea yet. It's a date," came out. Oops? Immediately questioning all the assumptions she'd made, she widened her eyes slightly and willed her cheeks not to go red as she added, "Right?" RIGHT? If she was wrong, she'd have to move to Antarctica to live with the penguins 'cause she'd never live it down. And if she was right she'd still have to move to Antarctica with the penguins 'cause even prefect training hadn't taught her what to do on a DATE. Jeez louise. You'd think it'd be part of the curriculum considering Soph and Zander were in charge, since they might as well have been celebrating their 57th anniversary. That had to count as false advertisement.
She hesitated some more, suddenly very interested in the surface of the table, before looking sideways at him again. "Me? Are you sure you mean me?"
If Zander Adair didn't wipe that grin off his face she'd have to go over and sit on him too.
