WHY DID DAKEST INSIST ON PAIRING HIM UP WITH GRYFFINDORS, EH?

Not that he MINDED but, you know, Gryffindors were FIERCE and HYPER and he was now facing his SECOND GRYFFINDOR IN A DUEL. Not to mention the trouble he'd had with a certain Gryffindor throughout this year.

Phillip STARED as the girl, the first year, the BEAST as she stomped her way into the Dueling Arena. It was as if she was a dragon ROARING TO GO while he was a small boy with a smile that let him get away with things ~~sometimes.~~ He bowed back to her, making sure to hold onto his wand TIGHTLY. Mistakes from the previous duel wasn't going to happen now, OKAY? He was going to GET that third place.

ARE YOU READY TO LOSE, KETTLEBURN? HMM?

.............. And then she shot him with a spell.

And was he ready? N O.

So, with a dramatic OOMPH! the boy doubled over at the point where the spell hit him. He then reached up his hands to touch his ears that were tingling and twitching only to find that.........

.............. uh. KUMQUATS?! HE HAD WEIRD ORANGE-LIKE FRUITS FOR EARS THANKS SO MUCH CHARLOTTE KETTLEBURN.

The Slytherin looked up at her, the girl who was now feather light and saying something that was taunting. His face scrunched up and he pointed up at his ears and cast a small "Finite!" Couldn't leave the place with THOSE for ears. NO WAY.

As for his counter-attack spell, he knew the PERFECT one. In fact, if he had perfected the smirk by now -- WHICH HE WAS GOING TO DO, OKAY? -- he would have smirked in her direction. Instead, Phillip shot her the most innocent smile he could before saying, "VENTUS!"

EHE. EHEHEHE.
