AVA BURTON WAS SO NOT A BETTER DUELER THAN HER! Yeah! She was just lucky that she only had to go against other first years and hadn't already faced Colt before! And also maybe possibly Char might have MAYBE POSSIBLY got Colt with her very last spell if that dumb barrier hadn't gone up to stop the duel! So it wasn't fair okay? And she was mad and determined and it was even more mad than normal mad which she didn't know WHY but for some reason she wanted to punch things and stomp and kick stuff and sulk and eat lots of chocolate and candy and it probably wasn't the dueling at all actually but still... STILL!!!
And obviously that meant that Char was about to take the slightly irrational rage out on PHILLIP ROMALOTTI. SO WAS HE READY? BECAUSE SHE WAS.
The small blonde stomped into the arena with her head held high, dressed in her dueling gear, wand already in hand. She gnashed her teeth ferociously (or at least she thought it was ferocious, she might have practiced a bit in her mirror in the dorm), and bowed at her opponent.
And if she was honest, and she usually was, she had learned tons and tons from the two duels she'd done in the tournament so far, and intended to use what she had learned, yuppp.
READYANDGO?! YEAH!
Charlotte whipped her wand through the air and cast the Ears to Kumquats spell at Phillip, but she wasn't about to wait for him to do something either, instead she cast on herself immediately afterward, featherlight charm! Yeah! It was all about speed, that was her definite strong point. "Watchu got, Slytherin!" The first year taunted somewhat cheerfully. It was easier to forget that she was somewhat sulky and weirdly mad about things once she got into the fun of it after all.
