Who would have believed it?
Benny certainly didn't. He was in contention for first place in the set of duels made up of all the participating sixth and seventh years. Him...the one who would never claim defense against the dark arts as a strong suit of his. Adi certainly was excited for him, on top of noticing the fact that he shared a similar name to his opponent besides being in the same year. The Gryffindor had to admit his thoughts were on something a bit more serious...like how in the world he could have possibly gotten to this point.
Finally they were up for their duel and the seventh year was there with his Ravenclaw companion as ready as he ever was going to be for it. Benny moved to his end of the dueling platform and took a deep breath before giving the bow of respect to mark his readiness to begin. And once he was straightened up to his full height, the Gryffindor opted to make his move, having taken turns beginning and following up and decided making the first move might work out better. He was starting out with less fatigue by the opening stats.
"EXPELLIARMUS!" he cast strong and clear, opting for nothing fancy at first. Perhaps his opponent would get the wrong impression. But he did put a lot of effort behind it, in hopes he might do more than just free the wand if he was successful. Or at least something would work from it.
