Megan being here and returning her greeting just automatically made the day a whole lot better. It was already a great friendship and she adored her new coworker.
Did Kai's cheeks turn a little pink at what Logan said?....possibly. She forgot that she had polka dot elbow length gloves in her front pocket....they were cute and she did like them, but something about how he said it was just so..........."Oh, thank you. They always get messy with me it just kind of happens because I always get dirty." Did that sound right? She liked botany and playing in the dirt.....and she rambled a little around Logan. "You look nice....like always."Smile and hair tuck because she was an awkward duckling. AND....She had barely greeted Logan and the boss man before she heard a certain someone barking orders at her. She mentally sighed as Mr. Demetri started heckling her again, was this his new life's mission? Seriously? She asked boss man what he wanted, not him. He wasn't her boss, he hadn't been there longer than her, and he wasn't even in her direct team. Take a chill pill Mr. Suits. "I believe that I asked the boss, Mr. Demetri." She smiled as calmly and peacefully as ever, rarely ruffled by his commentary.
Kai held back a giggle as she watched the bossman take Charlie's toilet. He was one magnificent specimen of man flesh.....She knew that he was her boss and off the market, the somewhat embarrassment over initial accident of her pre meeting him at the Leaky last year had mostly worn off except when he teased her. He really was just a very fine representative of the male race and she knew that she was not the only woman in the department, nay ministry, that had no intentions but liked to watch his muscles work.
"Yes sir!" Kai saluted him with her ever fixed smile. Now...Inside as Mr. Grumpypants Charlie had suggested.....or help Charlie? She felt like not doing what Charlie said and took on the other task that her boss had offered. Logan started with the moving of the heavy porcelain privys too and that was yet another reason to help with that task. She watched as he pulled his jacket off and his sleeves up to reveal his manly arm muscles. Another fine specimen of the male of the species....A&C DEFINITELY was the home of Ministry hotties.
Stopping herself from staring at Logan, she quickly looked elsewhere and walked up to one of the porcelain thrones. They couldn't use magic , but she was used to non-maging it and thankfully she had worn a sleeveless shirt so that nothing would get in her way. Slipping her gloves on, she centered herself and bent her knees.....she was NOT going to pull a muscle and be useless. Was she up to the task? What did these weigh, 100 lbs / 45 k? She should be able to do that....at least once. Being female and not the tallest person here, she had a lower center of gravity and that made it easier. It took all of her muscles and you could see all of them flexed to do so, but she managed to hoist the heavy lavatory and slowly start walking it to the end of the truck. She wasn't as strong as some of the boys and this would be her only solo endeavor, but walking by Charles she smiled just a little as she made it to the ground just outside of the truck to set the load down. She grinned and laughed a little, pleased with herself and took a deep breath.
Looking at the other department head (Lynley) that was suggesting a pair up, Kai nodded her head and walked over to her. "That sounds like a good idea. May I be your partner?" It would be best to pair up with another woman probably. |
