Ilia was beyond miserable as she listened to everyone speak. Henric was trying to take all of the blame for what had happened, Adi was blaming himself because he was upset and protecting her (emotionally), Benny was dragged into it all because of her and because they couldn't stop the puffs from getting huffy. Mr. McLeod was annoyed, 'Admiral' Flamsteed was here now too and Mrs. Muggle studies looked so angry she could have been a Pufferfish rather than a Hufflepuff........Punishment....they wanted to punish her boys!? She looked at their Headmaster , who sort of reminded her of her grandfather. He looked disappointed and she felt ashamed and upset that Henric and Adi were in trouble, did she have anything to say? With her it was one thing, but them....she started to feel the thing in her chest thump harder than it should and wetness started falling from her eyes. She couldn't seem to control it anymore and her blank expression went to sobbing from 0 to 60. "I'm sorry." Her quiet voice finally erupted. "Its my fault, I caused this. They wouldn't have been fighting if it wasn't for me. I'm so sorry." She tried to stop her tears but they kept coming....she had never cried in front of anyone but Henric and Adi and she was feeling exposed and embarrassed.
"I'm selfish and Henric and I had a disagreement." She confessed her feelings and he rejected her, they didn't agree so her term was technically correct. "I was upset and Adi was trying to make it better and defend me. I know he shouldn't have hit Henric, but I caused this.........please don't punish them harshly." Ilia had her eyes down cast as she spoke, a bit scared and not sure what to do, she didn't want to see the headmaster angry with her.
"Please don't owl my mother. I don't want to leave here." She was just melting emotionally and it made her feel sick with herself to show anyone how upset she was. It was over wasn't it? She wouldn't get to come back and she wouldn't get to see Henric or Adi. Her mother wouldn't let her near Henric again and she'd get shipped off to Beauxbatons.
