Of course they did.
Wizard, knight, boy scout. "Oh, I can be whatever ya want me to be, baby," he winked in mock-smoothness. And then proceeded to serve as support when she sat. See? He was good for something.
"I'll protect ya from any lemonade attacks. No worries about THAT, Princess." Honestly though, exploding lemonade DID seem to have a thing for sticking to him in particular. But he'd save the drinks for last, anyway. "So, first we've got some yummy candy floss," he told her as he produced it from the bag. Nice and pink, yeah? Then he took out a red and white striped tub of popcorn. "See? Carnival food since we met at a carnival." He nudged her with that last word.
Now, the carnival food did kinda clash with the whole Princess theme, but that was definitely unavoidable. They didn't MEET in a castle. Nope. They'd met before they went to Hogwarts, on the streets of decked out Diagon Alley. "I've seen some of the dorks you work with, no offense, dear," Tori patted his knee as they sat down. But really, all the wizarding journalists knew each other. "Some of them try realllllly hard to be funny and get a laugh from the listeners. But it just ain't working for 'em. We all know they have plaid shirts and bowties and pants that are hemmed too short for them."
She let out a soft snort at his hitting on her. "Good. Because I have a LONG list of things I want you to be," she practically sang, getting her fingers out to tick them off. "Smart, funny, charming, tall, loyal, rich, mannerly, polite, honest, brave, hot...." Just a few things on her list, see.
Tori beamed at his use of her nickname and leaned back on the blanket. Oh, candy floss was first, eh? "Shouldn't we floss after we eat?" She giggled. But popcorn, yes please! That was the perfect appetizer. The redhead reached out for the bucket and popped a few pieces in her mouth. Ohhhhh a CARNIVAL theme, eh? "Did you theme this in case I'd forgotten how I met you?" She let out a real adult laugh now. Not a mocking laugh, just a genuine laugh of amusement at all his effort. She appreciated it. If only she could show her appreciation somehow...
