AHA! Well, that made a lot of sense. Not that the astronomer was anywhere near an expert on the profession and only knew what little details Daphne was willing to share. Which, needless to say, was not much. The man knew more about the proper care of felines than he did about curse breaking.
"If you have already spoken with the Headmaster about this, then I see no reason why you should not be approved for Owl level Ancient Runes," he chuckled. While not O level work until now, the boy had passing marks and then some, so if he had to the Head of House would vouch on the boy's behalf. But he sincerely doubted it would come to that. "I have a sister is a Curse Breaker, not for Gringotts however. She may be willing to speak with you about it as well should you ever find the need. Perhaps give you some hands on experience when you are old enough."
He could probably convince her of that. Not stop over for the Christmas holidays in return for the favor. She would probably fancy that option.
Although an internship at Gringotts would be more by the books. Really ought to have suggested that first.

He would have LOVED the term gifted to be applied to him, but he felt it would have been dishonest, so when Professor Flamsteed revised his compliment he was okay with it. At least it was still a compliment, and a good one at that. "Thank you, Sir," was all he could really say in reply. He liked to think of himself as an ideas man, that he was capable of thinking on his feet and problem solving and being innovative... so if it showed in some small way with his duelling, then he was happy.
Zeke was still holding out for a response on Runes though, to be honest, he kind of had his heart set on it now. The response was positive. Zeke grinned, allowing himself to exhale the breath he had been holding onto. Why were talks of OWLs so stressful? Stress wasn't something he was accustomed to, and it was weird. Awful. But then, to his delight, good turned to better.

"Really? That... that would be appreciated, I mean, it'd be great.. valuable. Really. Thanks." All those good things, that's what it was. But he did have questions, so many questions. Deciding it would probably be inappropriate to demand contact with his sister NOW, and figuring he ought to wait before peppering the Headmaster with questions and demand, Zeke opted to explore the topic of careers and obtaining education a little further. He had his own contacts after all.
"One thing I'm not really sure of, Professor... is where do I go after I finish here? I mean, I know some jobs take us into entry level positions and we train as we go, like with Obliviators, so is this the same for Curse Breakers? Or is there a Uni course for excavation and things that we need to do before we can get employed?" All that Ancient History stuff, which he hopes was nothing like History of Magic stuff, because he might struggle.
