He let his grin widen when she leaned on him because it wasn't like she could see it now anyway. "Secret admirer?" Did that surprise sound convincing? Yes? Oh yes, he thought so.

He slipped his hands around her and rested them on her back. Still wearing a little grin, Paulie leaned back some to look down at her. "So you're sayin' that Mr. Tall Dark 'N Handsome was your one an' ooooonly chance for eternal happiness?" Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
